Newly opened in 2010, the luxurious Martinhal is billed as ‘the finest luxury family resort in Europe.’ The resort is has 3 main categories of accommodation – the hotel (with interconnecting rooms for 2012), village (1, 2 and 3 bedroom houses) and luxury private villas with heated pools. Located on a stunning sandy beach within a protected national park, the resort is a far cry from the tourist crowds of the Algarve.
The little fishing village of Sagres is a 15 minute walk away across the beach.

Crèche Details at Martinhal Resort
6-23 months for 2 hours per child per day in one of time slots (9.30-11.30 or 3-5pm) every day all year. Cots are available for sleeping.
12.50 Euros per hour (2012), can be prebooked or booked locally with 24 hours notice (subject to availability). Extra slots subject to availability.

Children's Club at the Martinhal Resort
2-4 years, all year, 19 Euros per 3 hour session. Sessions run 9.30-1.30 am or 2.30 - 5.30pm every day. The first session is offered free of charge for each child staying at least 7 nights. (excludes June, July, August). We advise you to prebook all sessions required although can be booked in resort subject to availability.
In the summer holidays there will be an option of a 4 hours session including lunch running 09.15am - 1.15pm, cost 30 Euros, limited places so prebooking advised.
5 - 8 years in main school holidays only (please ask us to check your dates). 10 Euros per 3 hour session. Sessions run 9.30-12.30 am or 2.30 - 5.30pm every day. Teenagers Activities at the Martinhal Resort
Explorers Club for 9-12 years and teenagers club for 13-16 year olds during main school holidays, 10 - 6pm, activites arranged which are at extra charge depending on activity.
Club 98 is area with tennis courts, paddle tennis and multi sports pitch. There is also a pool which is popular for teenagers.
Family Activities at the Martinhal Resort
Bikes for hire (10 Euros per hour), boat trips, family fishing trips, dolphin watching (chance to snorkel and passively observe dolphins) in certain months, walks in national park.
Meals at the Martinhal Resort
Children's menu in As Dunas and Os Gambozinos restaurants. At least one is open all day so early suppers are always possible at a time to suit your family.
Beaches near the Martinhal Resort
Superb sandy beach right in front of the hotel. Gently shelving so good for paddling. Waves depend on wind and can be totally flat of waves good for some body surfing. Life guard in summer months only.
Surrounding Area near the Martinhal Resort
Sagres is a local fishing village 15 minutes walk from hotel -see the local fishermen land with their catch in the afternoons. Handful of bars, restaurants and intermarche supermarket.
