Located in the Al Waha Hotel in the heart of the resort, Little Turtles provides both air-conditioned/indoor and outdoor play areas, both under trained supervision.
Children's Facilities at the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah
Popular games such as Treasure Hunt, Henna Painting, and the Sand City Competition. They also offer activities that let children explore traditional Arabian crafts in a hands-on, engaging way.
Children enjoy the chance to get close to authentic Arabian horses and camels at Omani Heritage Village, a unique cultural centre.
Children's Pool at the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah
The children's pool, open from 6am to 8pm, is located beside the Circles Pool at Al Bandar.
There is also a Lazy River ,inspired by the centuries-old falaj system that brought fresh water to remote Omani villages, it winds for a delightful half-kilometre between the Al Bandar and Al Waha hotels. Guests use the river as a relaxing way of 'commuting' around the resort, simply floating along in the man-made current from pool to pool.

Beaches near the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah
The main beach is a one-kilometre expanse of warm golden sand washed by the cool turquoise waters of the Gulf of Oman. Down a short path is Turtle Beach, a smaller, secluded beach at the edge of the mountains.
The main beach offer bathrooms, showers, beach loungers, umbrellas, towels, and bar service with light snacks. The beaches and facilities are for the private use of guests.
Al Husn private beach is a secluded beach for the exclusive use of guests of the Al Husn Hotel. The beach offers a full bar and butler service, in addition to the services available at all our guest beaches.
Surrounding Area near the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah
Located within a short drive of Muscat the hotel provides a free shuttle to both the local markets, city centre and upmarket shopping mall. There are a variety of excursions to the desert, mountains and traditional towns, village and forts. The diving, whale and dolphin watching and turtle nesting are all on or close to resort.

Wide choice of rooms and suites for families
The Al Waha Family Suites are of particular note. The room comprises of two interconnecting bedrooms, one with a king size bed the other with twin beds, each with its own en suite bathroom. The twin bedded room has special features including a DVD player and Play Station, a selection of games and other items designed especially for our younger guests.
Family rooms offer a comfortable writing desk and broadband Internet access via a high-speed dataport. The bathrooms feature a separate bath and shower cubicle. The room dimensions are 64 sqm/688 sq ft. The two balconies or patios, furnished with a table and two chairs, each measures 5 sqm/54 sq ft.
Pools: The resort has three expansive, cooled swimming pools, open from 6am to 8pm each day: Al Waha, Al Bandar, and a private pool for guests of the Al Husn Hotel. The pools at Al Waha and Al Bandar are connected by the Lazy River.
Complimentary chilled mineral water is available at each pool, along with fresh towels.

Diving: The PADI 5 Star Gold Palm Resort, welcomes beginners and certified divers for daily scuba diving trips for one and/or two dives. Experienced instructors teach all courses from Scuba Diver to Dive Master level in several languages.
Daily dolphin excursions, snorkeling trips and sunset cruises.
Tennis: The resort offers guests four tennis courts, open from 8am to 10pm daily.
Spa: CHI allows you to enjoy the privacy and luxury of the largest spa villa rooms in Muscat, complete with spacious relaxation areas, which include a private garden patio and garden rain shower. Featuring a vitality hydro pool, herbal steam room, tundra and tropical snail showers, ice fountain and a relaxation area where chairs and loungers invite you to enjoy the ambience of Chi.
The Rhassul and Hammam, for both gentlemen and ladies, are a wonderful way to help you unwind and relax, and can be booked.
Fitness centre: fully-equipped Fitness Centre offers stunning views over the beach and out to sea, and includes a sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. It is open from 6am to 11pm daily.
