One of Europe's first ever ski resorts, this Swiss resort is still lovely. The small rack railway dates back to the resort's origins, as does the elegant hotel that is home to the Club Med. The mountain railway 50 yards from the hotel, gets you to the slopes (Villars, Diablerets and Gryon) in about 20 minutes or a Club Med bus goes to the slopes of Meilleret-Diablerets (about 20-30 minutes).

The resort altitude is 1,300 metres with acces to the ski Domains of Villars-Gryon and Diableret-Meilleret-Isenau between 3,000 m and 1,250 m offering 100km of downhill ski runs (3 black, 27 red, 20 blue) and 44km of cross country skiing as well as 2 snow parks.

With its outdoor heated swimming pool in a beautiful, south-facing setting, its Turkish bath and speciality restaurant, the hotel offers warm and cosy comforts. Villars-sur-Ollon has something for the whole family, from action-packed skiing to tasting local produce and relaxing strolls to nearby Lake Geneva.


NB: for the Diablerets glacier, you have to buy an additional ski-pass.

Crèche Details at Villars-sur-Ollon

4 -23 months, open 6 days a week, from 8.30am to 5.00pm. Activities and walks. £240 per week. Nappies, wipes, formula milk and bottles are not provided.

2 and 3 year olds join Petit Club Med, open as creche plus 7 – 9pm (songs and stories while parents enjoy dinner). Play area, indoor games and crafts and activities in the snow. £210 per week.

Both must be booked when you book your holiday. Includes lunch and afternoon snacks, with or without parents.

Children's Club at the Villars-sur-Ollon

4 - 10 years there is a complimentary children’s club open 6 days a week open 8.30 am to 5.00pm and 7.00pm to 9.00pm

Children’s skiing: included in package
Beginners aged 4-5 years:
Individual supervision in the snow garden, beginners ski lessons using the ski tow or ski belt. They discover the joys of winter sports at their own pace and in a fun way. Includes games and building snowmen.

Older children and 4 and 5 year olds who have skied before:
Grouped according to their age and skiing ability.  Introductory to competitive level lessons, official certificates awarded. Classes for older children last all day.

During French School holidays children aged 8 and over can try snowboarding.

Baby Facilities at the Villars-sur-Ollon

Baby-care equipment available in your room and/or in the baby care room (cot, changing mat, baby bath, high chair on request, bottle-warmer), sweet and savoury baby foods, high chairs and/or booster cushions in the restaurant.

BABY FEEDING ROOM: 
Open 24 hours a day, it provides all the utensils necessary for preparing meals: mixer, sterilizer (provided only on request), microwave, fridge, bottle warmer, and additional products such as mineral water, fruit, full-fat and semi-skimmed long-life milk (baby formula milk not provided).

Teenagers Activities at the Villars-sur-Ollon

Open during French school holidays (please ask us to confirm dates for you).
Split 11-13 years and 14-17 years. During the morning and afternoon, they can take part in group skiing or snowboarding classes specially suited to their level.  Leaders are on hand to offer a wide range of apres-ski activities, both inside and out.
Teens are free to enjoy their holiday at their own pace, and join in when they choose.

Meals at the Villars-sur-Ollon

Baby Zone, in the Resort's main restaurant, offers a special service for babies, with sweet and savoury baby foods and all the equipment for preparing your baby's meals. Opens 6.30pm.

2 restaurants at the hotel one buffet and one waiter service specialising in Swiss cuisine.

Also Mountain restaurant open for lunch. Must be preboked but no extra charge, open certain dates only. Can take the mountain train or ski.

Flight time to Geneva, approx 1 hour 30 minutes.
Transfer time 1 hour, 45 minutes from Geneva.

Ski and snowboard lessons

Group ski and snowboard lessons are included (for those over 12 years) run by professional ski instructors in groups of maximum 12 people. A test on the first morning will determine your level. Lessons run  for a period of 5 full days and begin the day after main arrival day.

Ski lift pass included, valid for 6 days from the day after main arrival day
NB: if you wish to ski on your day of arrival, you can purchase a one-day pass, on site.

For short days during the week and weekends, there are no lessons scheduled, unless you arrive on main arrival/departure day.
